We came back to our albergue in hopes that our room would be ready. We were Surprised to find that we have a private room, just the 2 of us. It barely has room for more than a bunk bed and a tiny desk, but it is just for us and has a tiny private bathroom! Right now I am writing this while sitting in a cute alcove next to the albergue kitchen/sittting room. Max, the pilgrim from Atlanta just walked in with the pilgrim from Denmark. It is such a tiny pilgrim world!

Cafes and Farmers Markets
Even though it is Sunday, it is hopping here in Logrono. Lots of people were out to cheer on the marathoners and there were also lots of multi generational families out for a stroll after church. We went for coffee at an outside cafe and enjoyed watching everyone walk by. Later we walked back by the cathedral and came across a fabulous farmers market where we bought peaches and grapes and pears from the old men manning the booths. It was great to eat some of the produce that we have seen growing by the roads. There are fig trees everywhere laden with fruit, but that is the one thing that I am terribly allergic to.

Amy, we are stunned at how beautiful the fruit and produce look. And your pear/grapes/nectarine photo looks like a beautiful painting. Wow, yum.
ReplyDeleteSomeone at church shared some concord grapes w/ us that looked just like that. Yummy!
