Rosetta Stone

Figeac has a replica of the Rosetta Stone in their museum of language and writing. It was too early  to go to our gite after we got back from Rocamadour so we had hot chocolate in a funky little gift shop then headed up to the museum. It was not only open, it was free today. What luck! There was an interesting display of the history of written language as well as some artifacts.

We hadn't been to the other big church in Figeac yet, so we continued up the hill to check it out. The interior was the strangest mixtures of different styles that made no sense together. Very strange. Tired and chilled, we made our way back to the gite to relax before dinner and catch up on my blog and read. The communal meal last night was delicious, once again soup and vegetables from the garden with sausage and rice, a cheese course and 2 small desserts, a chocolate brownie and a little slice of fruit tart.

The gite has a very sweet dog named Bebe.
