Morning Walking

Durfort-Lachapellette to Moissac
15km

Today we were out the door by 7:30 because the French guys were early risers and the gite was so tiny we heard every sound anyone made. This meant we enjoyed the early morning light again. The sky and air were lovely. It did turn humid, especially when we went uphill for a bit but the walk was fairly easy and we were in Moissac by 11ish.

Our gite called Ultreia is run by a delightful Irish couple and my Camino friend Oliver is helping out here for a couple of weeks. The gite and garden are lovely and feels welcoming and homey after last night. They were worried about our packs because the gite from last night had trouble with bedbugs a couple of weeks ago. We didn't get bit and we had checked our beds and sprayed them before sleeping. The smell in the room was probably from the treatment they had done to get rid of them. We're pretty sure our stuff is fine. But maybe a close call.

Moissac is a pretty big city and a huge farmers market was in full swing when we arrived. We dropped our packs off in the gite and headed back to the market to get some roasted potatoes, sausages and ratatouille for lunch which we ate in front of the Abbey. I'll write a separate post about the Abbey and Cloister. Such a nice day!
