Morning Light

Limonge en Quercy to Mas de Vers
23 km

For the past week it has been overcast or raining as we set out, so this morning it was a wonderful treat to see the golden light illuminating the buildings and scenery. The walk today was fairly flat though still rocky enough to need to watch your step.

About 8.5 km in there was a bar open for coffee in a lovely little village. It was about 300 meters off the Chemin which seems to avoid the towns at times. A bunch of other walkers found it as well and it felt like a nice coffee break like we had in Spain on the Camino. There was even wifi which was great since there wasn't any last night.

We ate our leftover salad from last night by a church in Bach for lunch. It was a nice change to have some salad for lunch. Typically we have been eating cheeses, salami or pate, tomatoes, wrapped up in endive since it travels well and makes a nice bread free option.

The chambre d'hotes where we are staying tonight is a nice upgrade from the bare bones communal gite from last night. We were joking about wanting a foot massage, lounge chairs and cold beverages and lo and behold after following tiny little signs on a path through the woods we came to our chambre d'hotes where we were greeted with a nice beverage, a massage chair and recliners in the garden. Ask and you shall receive!

So now I am fresh and clean after a great shower, have had a calf and foot massage and am relaxing in the garden. I'm feeling very grateful!
